Mitchell Farm

Today was our first field trip. Cole's first field trip as a student, and mine as a chaperone! :)
It was a lot of fun. I was in charge of Cole, of course, and one other student, Martinez.
We went to Mitchell Farm in Holly. We enjoyed a straw ride (not hay apparently) and got dropped off in the corn field where we had to make our way to the center of the corn field to find the pumpkins. Each child and adult got to pick their very own pumpkin. Then we went into a small barn to hear about farm life from the owner of the farm. The children also got to watch popcorn being made in a large black kettle. They enjoyed that very much! Everyone got a paper cup with popcorn to snack on. Afterwards, the kids got to walk freely around the farm and look at all the animals. They had bails of hay for the kids to walk on, they had wood animals for them to play on, a slide - it was fun for the kids. They all enjoyed it immensely, despite the cold weather. I can't wait to start a scrapbook of all of Cole's school memories!
