if you have to question it, then it's probably what you don't want it to be

sometimes we just ask, knowing what the answer is,
but hoping that in some way, it will be different
than what we don't want it to be.
case in point:
saturday night the boys and i came home late
from a birthday party.
it was already past their bed time,
so i decided to have cole share mason's bath
instead of getting a shower.
i let the boys play for a couple of minutes
then i came in to wash mason up.
i quickly did what i needed to do,
then i realized that the water's color
wasn't what it should be.
it had a yellow-ish tint to it.
so i assume right away that
our water softener needs more salt or needs
more iron out. so i yell to chris,
"hon! the water is looking kind of yellow.
do you think it's time for more salt or iron out?"
as i am asking this, i am lifting mason out of the tub.
he calmy and matter of factly states,
"i just pee'd in the tub, mom".
i should have known.
so, just as mason is telling me this,
i look at cole, who is now sitting in the
water with the pee pee.
cole has his nose plugged and his head under the water
trying to see how many seconds he can stay under. lol
needless to say,
cole got a shower that night.
