Memorial Day

this has been one busy week.
it seems like for the past 4 or 5 days
we've had something constantly going.
it's been a blast though!
it all started with my brother's graduation.
then i went with cole on a field trip to
potter's park in lansing.
then that night cole got a new bike and
the whole family came over to watch the wings.
saturday, chris got up with the boys and let me
sleep in while he took the boys outside to play.
then we decided to go to greenfield village for
the civil war re-enactment. that was alot of fun.
sunday we went to services, then to grandma's for lunch,
watched the wings game, then back home to play with
the boys. chris has been so phenomenal this weekend!
everything has been about me and the boys.
whatever we want to do. he's been so unselfish!
we played with the boys sunday night. went bike riding.
chris set up the air mattress in the living room
for the boys. we stayed up late watching a movie
and eating junk food.
then monday was spent with the boys all day.
doing whatever they wanted.
we rode bikes, played baseball,
played on the swing set, took them to burger king
for dinner - their choice, of course.
played at the neighbor's for an hour
...it was the best weekend
we've had in a long time!

chris fixed my clothes line so i could
hang out clothes to dry

then he surprised me by doing the laundry
and hanging it out on the line himself!
what a great husband!

the kids even came over to help.

back to the house for some baseball now.

mason hit the ball and ran around
the bases and slid into home plate.

yep! i miss it completely!
of course i would though,
i'm not even looking at the ball.
who knows what i'm looking at!

cole wanted me to chase him with the ball
and tag him after he hit it.
well, instead of running just to each base,
he decided to run all the way
around the front yard to try to get away from me.
it took me a little longer to get him out,
but i did it!

i let cole use the camera
(very reluctantly, mind you)
so i could get a picture of me and chris.
we don't have too many nice ones of
just the two of us.

cole wanted to join in on the all
the picture taking.

chris set up the camera on the tripod
so we could get our picture again,
but he surprised me right before
it clicked and planted a big wet one
on me! :) i was laughing.

we had such a great family weekend.
no, we didn't get to go camping like
chris wanted to do originally,
but what we did was better.
we were home. and home is the best place.
and we were together and just loving
eachother and being with eachother.
it was so refreshing and
helped us all to connect again as a family.
we are one blessed family and i am
one blessed woman to have such a great
husband who made sure his
vacation was all about his wife
and sons and what we wanted!
we didn't do anything he wanted all weekend!
he's a keeper! :)
