i should write a book.....

i should write a book of all the funny things my kids do and say.
it would be a best seller!
that is one thing that i regret as a mother - not having a journal
and writing down all of the funny things that they do and say.
having boys is the best ever! they are so creative and so smart!
oh my are they smart! it baffles me sometimes at how smart
they are and the things they come up with.
their little minds are so wonderful.
i have a 6 year old who isn't in 1st grade yet reading
2nd-3rd grade level books! amazing!
i am blessed with smart children. they got it from their dad.
i am so thankful for that. :)

friday night we were at my inlaws house. we were sitting at the table
playing a game, when mason strolled into the kitchen on a mission.
it was tattle-taling. i could just tell. (that's his big thing right now)
he walks in and says in his whiny, tattle tale voice, "mom?"
"what mason?" he replies, "grant's getting on my nerbs!"
he was so serious about it! he sounded so grown up. it was so cute!

later that night, cole came in and asked for a snack.
so, grandma got him a packet of crackers. he sat down at the
table and watched us play our game while he ate his snack.
about 10 minutes or so passed when paulette looked at him and said,
"cole? where's grant?" cole just kept eating his snack and stated,
as if it were no big deal at all, "he's hiding. we're playing hide and seek."
we looked at eachother and started laughing so hard! poor grant.
he is the most patient hide and seek player i've ever seen!

on sunday morning, we picked up the boys from their grandparents' house.
cole was so excited to see us because he wanted to show us the coins he had.
he said grandpa made a treasure map for him, mason, and grant and they
each got 92 cents. so i told him to put his money in his pocket and that he
needed to give God some money. i said, "pick out a coin - any coin - and put
it in the basket today for God." he said, "okay. i'll give God a quarter."
i said, "okay, that's fine." he pondered that a minute and then said,
"how many cents will i have left if i give God a quarter?" i told him and then
he walked away. about 2 minutes later he came back and said, "if i want to have
eighty something cents left, then how much would i give God?" i smiled and said,
"a dime. you can give God a dime." he said, "okay. i'll do that." and that was the end
of it. during services, when the basket came around, i heard cole, two pews ahead of
me drop his one coin into the basket. mason's turn came and i heard what sounded
like a whole bunch of coins falling into the basket. by the smile on paulette's face,
i assumed that he had put all of his coins in the basket. that was fine.
after service, while we were on our way to grandma's house, cole says,
"hey mom! guess what? i thought of something even better to give to God today!
wanna know what it was?" i said, "what?" in the most excited, proud voice ever he says,
"i gave God a penny so i could still have 90 something cents left!" i look back at cole, who has
the biggest grin on his face, and then i look over at chris who is trying to hard to hold his laugh inside! immediately i turn my head so cole cannot see me laughing uncontrollably. when i
am able to compose myself, i reply, "good job cole." cole looks at mason as says, "mason,
how many coins did you give God?" mason says so sweetly and innocently, "i give God all my coins, cole. there all gone!" he even opened up his empty hands to show cole that he didn't have
any coins left. i looked at chris and pointed to the boys and said, "cain and abel."

you just have to laugh some times! and that, my friends, is why they keep me laughing.
