arts, beats, and eats

on labor day we went to pontiac for their arts, beats, and eats festival. we went about 3 or 4 years ago to see collective soul and had always wanted to go back again. so since phil vassar was playing there this year, and since it was a free concert, we decided to go! matt and rachel decided to go with us too. it was a lot of fun. we walked around and perused all the art and clothing and different things. we saw very interesting "art", i guess you could call it. i had to remind myself that i couldn't make fun of things until after i walked away because the "art" maker themselves were probably selling it.

we're on our way!!!


we paid $5 and parked at the silverdome and got shuttled into the city where the festival was at.







we didn't have enough cash left on us after paying for parking and our $2 per person to get into the festivities, so we needed an atm badly! i assumed since our bank (flagstar) was one of the sponsors of the event that they would have an atm somewhere. no. they didn't. we had to use some random-who-knows-who's-bank-it-belongs-to atm and got charged $5 to use it!!!! then on top of paying that, we had to spend $20 just to buy food tickets to buy our food. we got 32 tickets for our money and those 32 tickets bought us one 20 oz. pop, a hotdog, a chicken gyro, and nachos. that's it.



there was a haunted house being advertised and i guess this car was their advertisement.



matt and rachel got the irish nacho, which consisted of potato chips, cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, and onions.





i got the american nacho which was just chese, sour cream, and chives. yummo!!!!







after walking around for a couple of hours, we headed over to the main stage to wait for phil vassar.



an up and coming country artist named whitney duncan was performing when we got there. we got pretty decent seats. we were in the 9th row from the stage.



here we go! phil vassar, baby! i told chris that i didn't think i knew that many of his songs and he told me that i probably knew most of them but just couldn't think of them at the moment - he was right. i knew practically all of them! i loved it! i stood there with everyone else and sang my little heart out and shot millions of pictures. it was a blast!









i have a lot of pictures of this dude too. i don't know why but i loved taking pictures of his hair. :) there was a part in the concert where phil vassar left the stage and he let all of his band members sing and play a song of their own. i thought that was pretty neat. they all sang old 80's hair band songs and just classic rock songs that everyone could jam to. he also through a little motown into some of his songs as a tribute to michigan. i thought that was pretty cool too.

i have no idea who this guy was and why he was walking up and down the isles like that, but i couldn't resist and had to get a picture.



on the way back to the silverdome, i tried to get a picture of matt and rachel but this boy walked infront of the camera just as i shot it....so i tried another picture....



....and this is what i got..... the funny thing is that neither one of them knew what the other one was doing. (sorry their blurry. the bus was kind of bouncy)
