Today we went to Chick Fil-A for breakfast so Chris could use their free Wi-Fi to look up navigational systems. He was getting tired of getting lost and doing u-turns every time we tried to go somewhere, so he asked if he could get a GPS for Father’s Day. So, we headed out early to go to breakfast and Best Buy, and then afterwards, we would meet everyone at Jamestown. The first initial time to leave the condos was at 9:30. We notice when we get to Best Buy that they don’t open until 10:00. So, we call everyone to see where they are and if we have time to wait for them to open up or if we’ll just have to come back later to get the GPS. No one is ready yet. They are trying to find tickets for the Ghost Tour in Williamsburg. So, we kill time next door at Target waiting for Best Buy to open. Finally, they open up shop. We get in, get Chris his GPS, and we have time to go back to Target so I can buy some gum to keep out some cash. Everyone is still not at Jamestown. So, we plug in our new and handy Garmin and head on off to Jamestown. We are there, but everyone else is on their way still. Finally at 11:00 a.m., we meet up with the rest of the family. An hour and a half after the time we were supposed to leave the condo! Jamestown and Yorktown were nice. Not as interesting as Williamsburg, but they were nice. Cole bought a sword at the gift shop in Yorktown. Mason got a lollipop. Out of all the toys in the gift shop, he wanted a lollipop. I was laughing and saying that he’s just like his cousin Grant. Grant came all the way to Colonial Williamsburg to buy a Beanie Baby as his souvenir. All the other kids bought pistols and rifles, but he wanted a Beanie Baby. While the other kids were getting swords and other colonial toys, Mason wanted a lollipop. Oh well. It made him happy at the time and now he wants to play with Cole’s sword! We ended the night with playing games and a birthday party back at our condo for all the birthday people. Mason was so excited to finally get his presents. He had been asking about them since we first got there! The guys went off to play racquetball and everyone else played Phase 10 while Paulette, Grandma, and Sheila played Settlers. Patrick, Rebekah, Michael, Ethan, Nolan, Haley, and Grant went for a dip in the hot tub. Kelly and I were playing Phase 10 with Gordie, Grandpa, and Robin when we could hear the kids yelling out in the hot tub room. We could hear someone yelling, “Marco!” and everyone else yelling “Polo!” Kelly and I looked at each other and busted out laughing! These six children were playing Marco Polo in a hot tub big enough for 3 adults! It was hilarious! The floor was covered in water! I think half of the water from the hot tub was on the floor after they were done. It was a mess, but they had fun and we had fun laughing at them!
