lucas david

yesterday was a day we had been waiting for.
me, not as much as tisha and nathan. :)
my little nephew was born!
they had a planned c-section.
after taking cole to school yesterday, i got ready and headed up to the hospital to take pictures for tisha before she went into surgery.
on the way up to the hospital, mason asked, "is aunt tisha getting a shot?" i said, "i'm sure she is." he replied, "can i have her sucker?" :) i laughed and said, "no, you can't have a sucker." he said, "oh. she wants to eat it?" how cute is that?!

we got there around 10:30, a half hour before her surgery was scheduled.
jonah was there with mommy and daddy. he was all ready for his little brother.

jonah never looked at the camera. sesame street was on so i couldn't compete with that. :)

Photobucket

he always yelled, "cheeeeeese!" for the pictures though. :)

Photobucket

grandma and papa brought him a "big brother present".

Photobucket

they also brought cole and mason "big cousin presents". (cole was at school so i took his home to him)

Photobucket

mason got a flashlight. he found this flashlight up at wayne and sandi's cabin and loved it! so, grandma found him one. jonah got a car.

about to give birth and still struttin' her stuff!

grandma was getting ready to take the boys to the vending machine in the waiting room

Photobucket

guess what jonah picked out? they didn't have any more for them to each have their own m&m's. so were they expecting a 2 year old and 3 year old to share? hmm....

kissing mommy goodbye

Photobucket

there she goes! down to have her baby. finally!!!

Photobucket

can you guess which one is nathan? haha

Photobucket

after she went into surgery, mom, dad, josh, and myself took the boys down to the waiting room to wait for the news.

jonah dumped his m&m's out on the table and ate them and mason ate his hershey's chocolate bar papa got him while grandma read them a book. (yes. i know. nice grandparents. give a 2 yr. old and 3 yr. old chocolate at 11:00 in the morning. lol)

after about a half hour. we decided to walk down to the nursery to see if we could peek in and see anything or hear anything.

this is as much as we could see. we sent the boys back to the waiting room and we stood at the nursery door peeking in to see if we could get a glimpse of lucas. we could hear him, but couldn't see him. he was crying and crying! he has a good set of lungs! but, we weren't surprised. :)

Photobucket

we could see shadows of the nurse as she quickly walked back and forth cleaning him up and weighing him and doing all the tests and things. it was killing us that we couldn't see anything more. people kept walking by in the hall and they would laugh everytime they saw us standing there bent over peeking in the door. after a while, nathan came out to tell us all the statistics.

8 lbs.3 oz.
20.5 in. long
mother and baby were doing fine and in recovery.
so, he said that mom and dad should probably take jonah home and give him a nap and then come up later to see the baby. tisha was going to be in recovery for at least 2 hours. so, we went back to the waiting room to tell dad and josh about the baby and to see who was staying and who was going. dad said he was going to take the boys home by himself and give them lunch and a nap, but they were too hyper for him, so he needed me or mom to go with him. i laughed, thinking "of course they're hyper. you fed them entire packages of m&m's and hershey's bar!" so, mom decided to go home and i stayed at the hospital. i had grabbed a book from the house just before i left the house, so i just figured i'd sit in the waiting room and read my book and let tisha and lucas rest and let them have "family" time. so, i headed down to the cafeteria for some lunch and made some phone calls and read a little. then i headed up to the labor and delivery floor and waited in the waiting room and read.

after about two hours, nathan came down to tell me that tisha and lucas were back from recovery and to come to the room to see him. so, without further ado, here he is!

he has big feet! (he was a pound lighter than jonah and an inch longer)

around 5:00, mom, dad, josh, and the boys made it back up to the hospital.

Photobucket

it was so funny. they put jonah up on the bed with tisha so he could see lucas and hold him. they placed lucas in his arms and about 5 seconds later, he starts pushing him away and says, "i don't yike him. take it away. i don't yike him." we started laughing. my mom, "no jonah. you're supposed to love your brother." jonah said, "i not lub him. mommy lub him." it was too funny! i think someone is jealous. :)

Photobucket

mason was obsessed with lucas! he loved him! he wouldn't stop touching him and saying he wanted to hold him and kiss him. mason loves babies!

Photobucket

mason finally got a chance to hold his cousin. he was so excited.

after a while, dad decided to take mason down to the cafeteria for some ice cream, because he promised he would get him some. so, he figured that it would be a good time to let jonah stay and spend time with his mom and dad and lucas. nathan picked up jonah to take him over to the bed to see tisha and lucas and he started kicking and crying and saying, "i want to go with papa!". mason, on the other hand was saying, "i want to stay with the baby!" lol i think that's the first time mason has ever turned down ice cream.

i can't wait for this weekend. hopefully we can make it over to their house so chris and cole can see lucas. i'm anxious to hold that sweet baby again.

on a side note (for all of you who are dying to ask this question and for some who have already):
NO! i am not having another baby for mason!

Awww...Congratulations to Tisha! I love the one of him by himself without his hat, kinda peeking out around his blanket! The one of you and Tisha before is really good too. Poor Jonah, Actually, poor Tisha, she is really gonna have her hands full! I am so thankful my kids seemed to like each other when they were born, it was more of a fascination, they would just sit and watch the baby. Although one of them, I can't remember which one (I know it's bad, but when you have 4 unless I write it down things blur together)would look at the baby, then look at my stomach, then back to the baby, then to my stomach, like they were really trying to figure all this out :)
