proud mommy sticker

I need a sticker that says "I'm a proud mommy!"
Last night was Cole's open house at his school. He was so excited to take us to his school and show us his classroom and his desk and how he organized all the stuff in his desk. He was beaming from ear to ear! He was so excited. Walking into school was kind of sad. He looked like such a big boy. He led the way and we followed. We walked by a classroom and he pointed to it and said, "There's Miss Anderson's class". He sounded so grown up. As we walked through the hallway, making our way to his class, he would wave and say "Hi" to certain kids he saw and would say what their name was.

We made it to his room and he took us right to his desk. It had his name on it. There were shelves going down the side of his desk that held his crayons, markers, pencils, colored pencils, hand sanitizer, kleenex, and his handwriting and math books. He was so proud of everything. His teacher, Miss Wells, made her way over to us after she was done talking to another set of parents and we introduced ourselves. Right after names were exchanged, she looked at me and said, "Cole is such a joy to have in class. He is so respectful. I've never seen a boy his age so respectful of others. He always wants to help." It was my turn to beam from ear to ear. That's my boy!!!! I said, "Thank you so much. We try really hard to teach him to be respectful." She replied, "Well, it shows. You've done a wonderful job with him." How cool is that?! It's so nice to see that your hard work is paying off. :)

I asked her about a letter she sent home that said that spelling homework was not required to be turned in. She said that spelling was the only thing that was not required to be turned in for 1st graders. She said that she just expects parents to work with their kids on the word lists she sends home so that they know how to spell. Then she added, "which I don't think is going to be a problem for Cole. He's doing just fine." That was nice too. Only one week into school and it seems like she's already noticed how bright Cole is.

After talking to the teacher and seeing where Cole hangs his backpack at and where he puts his lunch box everyday, we headed to the gym to see where he eats his lunch. They had tables set up with different booklets on different programs the school offers. They were also passing out snacks for the kids. After the kids finished their snacks and we finished walking around to the different tables, Cole wanted to go say "Hi" to Mrs. Wilson, his kindergarten teacher. After that, he wanted to show us the computer room where he plays computers and Miss Anderson's room. I remembered him telling me that they leave their classroom and go to another classroom every day. So I assumed this was the one. The teacher was very nice. She explained that the kids come to her class to read stories and do art crafts. She said they go to different rooms every few weeks to do extra things like that. She said "Cole is such a nice boy. He's very sweet and always asks if I need help." Again, beaming from ear to ear!

As we walked out of her classroom, I almost collided with the principal. He and Chris shook hands and exchanged names. After we started walking away from him to leave, Mason said, "Dad, he didn't shake my hand!" So, Chris shook Mason's hand so he wouldn't feel left out. :) Chris told me later that he could see Mason out of the corner of his eye holding his hand out to shake the principals hand when he shook his hand, but obviously the principal didn't see him.
