still potty training

well, the light at the end of the tunnel got farther away for a little bit. potty training can be such a frustrating, time consuming, hair-pulling out, want to scream experience! mason did perfect when i let him run around my house naked. not one single accident on my furniture or floors. he always made it to the potty in time. but, the weather has all of a sudden decided it wants to turn into almost winter temperatures in the beginning of fall, so i am forced to put clothing on my child so he won't sit down on the potty and pee out icicles. so, i put on underwear. i don't want to put diapers on him during the day because that would be like taking a step backwards. all i want to do is go forwards. so, diapers are reserved for naps and bedtime only. well, the first full day of wearing his training underpants had one accident. and unfortunately it was #2. how do i get so lucky? he stood infront of me in the living room and went in his pants. that was so disgusting to clean up! i was NOT a happy camper! so, day 2 of wearing the training underwear started with him peeing in his pants. then he went #2 in them later on during the day. then later that night he went pee in the again. after asking for tons of advice from people, i decided to go with the idea of getting him actual real boy underwear. maybe if he was wearing underwear that had his favorite cartoon characters on them, he would be more cautious about not wanting to get them dirty. so i asked him at dinner, "mason, do you want mommy to buy you some big boy undewear at the store tonight?" of course, his reply was "yes!" i said, "ok. what kind do you want?" his reply, "dora!" i looked at chris who just looked at me, rolled his eyes, looked at mason and said, "no. you are not wearing dora underwear. you can wear diego, but not dora." i couldn't help but laugh. lately mason has been obsessed with dora the explorer. he loves that show. i don't mind him watching her, but i draw the line at him wearing her on his clothes! so, i went shopping and got him these...

he was excited to see his new underwear. i actually got him a variety pack of 7 different disney pixar characters. he still asked if he was going to get dora underwear when he grew up to be a big boy and went potty all the time in the potty chair. lol so, i got online and printed out one of these...



that's as much dora as he's gonna get. he still asked me if he was going to get dora underwear once the chart was all filled up. this kid is not giving up on the dora underwear!

in the hopes of taking his mind off of the dora underwear for a little while, we are taking the boys to see this tonight...





for two weeks both toy story 1 & 2 are in theaters. and they are in 3D! i think it will be really cool. i know both movies by heart because the boys have watched them so much, but how often do you get to see movies like that in 3D? it will be a fun family night for us. i can't wait!
