the beatles????

Friday night we were wanting something fun to do that wouldn't cost tons of money. Chris did a little research online and found there was a free concert in the park in Auburn Hills. There was going to be a Beatles tribute concert. We thought that sounded pretty neat, and who doesn't like free???...so, we packed up some snacks, and Chris, Mason, and I headed to Auburn Hills. (Cole was having his week at Grandma and Grandpa's. That's why he wasn't with us.)





It didn't take long for Mason to fall asleep in the car. :)



We got there about an hour early, so Mason played on the play scape there at the park, and we walked along the small river they had next to the park and watched the ducks splash in the water and Mason threw rocks in the water.









Concert time!





Mason did really well. Before the concert, we were in town and we stopped in a little pizza restaurant and bought a pepperoni calzone and shared it. So, we had pop, a calzone, and snacks I brought from home to eat during the show. Mason was all set. He sat and ate and listened to the music. We even caught a glimpse of him dancing and moving his feet to the beat. :)



(There would be a picture of Chris and Mason, but while Chris was trying to hold the camera and face it at both him and Mason, he accidentally only had the camera pointing at his face. And he just happened to tell Mason to make funny faces for the picture. If I didn't think Chris would be really mad at me, I'd post the picture he took of himself. It's hilarious! He's crossing his eyes and sticking his tongue out to the side. I kept it for blackmail later on. haha)



It was a fun night. Didn't cost us hardly anything and we enjoyed ourselves. The last song of the show was "Twist and Shout", and there were old people getting up out of their lawn chairs to dance to it. It was so funny. At one point, I turned and looked to the side of me and there was this old man and his wife, they looked to be in their early 90's seriously, who were standing there dancing to the song. It was so cute! I couldn't get my camera out fast enough. Then after the band was done singing, someone requested they sing "Hey, Jude". So this lady and her friend and some kids went up in front of the band and stood there waving there hands back and forth and swaying to the song while other people all over the park sat in their chairs with their arms swaying up in the air to the music. The best part was seeing most of them with their cell phones in hand opened up so the lights from their phones were on. lol
